Voelklip ADSL Access

All Voelklip ADSL users are affected by a Telkom exchange problem.
Telkom is working on the problem but do not yet have a estimated
time to repair. We will update this notice when more information
becomes available.

Telkom are still attending to the problem with the Voelklip exchange.
The problem affects all ADSL users from all ISPs.

Scam Warning

A company claiming to provide security support is phoning
unsuspecting customers warning them that their computer is
infected with an undetectable virus. Customers are asked
to run the event viewer on their computer and then told
that the events are evidence of an infection.

Never entertain such calls and never download and install
anything unless you know and trust the source.

from Maxitec in order to obtain login details so that they can use these
credentials for fraudulent activities. Please contact us via the usual
channels in order to have your password reset if you did reply to any of
these emails.

Some Mail Delayed

Our virus scanner incorrectly flagged some mail as infected between 13h00
and 19h00 yesterday and quarantined these messages. We reprocessed the
quarantine spool at 18h00 today after discovering the problem. These messages
subsequently were delivered late. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

New year starts with a flash and a bang

The building housing our network node in Hermanus suffered a direct lightning
strike early this morning. Several Telkom lines were taken out. By 8h30
critical services were migrated to backup lines until about 15h00 when Telkom was
able to repair the primary lines. Some wireless equipment was also destroyed.
All damaged equipment was replaced and all services restored by 17h00.

We hope all our customers got the new year off to a better start.

ADSL Network Failure

Planned maintenance will be performed on the ADSL network from 6 September to 17 September between 22:00 and 02:00 every night. All SAIX ADSL services (shaped, un-shaped and local only) will be renumbered, and all SAIX ADSL users will experience intermittent service interruptions. Downtime will be kept to a minimum.
